Transmission fluid should be inspected every 15,000 miles, and replaced when fluid is dirty or burnt. Most cars should be flushed at 30,000 miles or 2 years. We will always check the condition of the fluid first before we recommend a trans flush. Some vehicles must use synthetic trans fluid, or a specific fluid recommended by the manufacturer. A trans flush means 100% of the fluid is replaced. A "drain and refill" means about 50% of the fluid is changed.
