Know what "free" diagnostics are before you use them
We have customers come in to our facility who have recently had a “free” diagnostic service performed at a parts store. They always tell the same story. “The parts person came out with his scanner, read the code, sold me a sensor, and my light is STILL on. Now, they won’t take the part back!”
Reading a trouble code is only a “bird’s eye view” of what is happening with your vehicle’s onboard diagnostic system.
Think about it another way. If your “problem with printer” icon came on right now, would you automatically replace your printer?
